Working at Heights training is a vital part of keeping workers safe and ensuring compliance of WHS regulations for employers. For wide range of industry, the need to work at heights is a regular occurrence. These hazardous work tasks can and are performed safely every day, thanks to well thought through and documented safety management plans and procedures. Working at Heights training will equip you with the skills and knowledge of how to work safely heights, through identifying hazards using risk assessments, implementing control measures, fulfilling compliance and regulatory requirements through the use and understanding of Permits to Work, Rescue Plans, SWMS, SOP's etc. In addition, the practical skills to correctly select, use and maintain suitable PPE for the task. 


Heights safety training will provide learners with the skills and knowledge to undertake safe working practices when working at heights in the resources and infrastructure industries. It applies to those working in operational roles. They generally work under supervision to undertake a prescribed range of functions involving known routines and procedures and take responsibility for the quality of work outcomes.

An SOA will be issued by Skills Network Australia Ltd within 30 days of completion of the course, provided all USI, fees and charges have been finalised.The units of competency listed above are current on the National Register of VET at the time of publication.

Prerequisites

There are no pre-requisites for this course.


Course Requirements

Foundation skills are the underpinning communication skills required for participation in the workplace, the community and in adult education and training.

Learning – to learn work safely at heights

Reading – work requirementsWriting – to complete documentation such as reports/risk assessments.

Oral communication – communication with other personnel to make sure it is safe

Numeracy – measuring and evaluating heights


Delivery Modes

1 day classroom training and assessment.

Training and assessment can be adjusted to account for specific workplace requirements and the existing skills and knowledge of the students.


Locations

Training and assessment may be held at a client’s site or nominated training facility. Please contact us for more information.


Renewal

The recommended industry standard recommend that refresher training should be carried out every two years. Ask your employer about their currency expectations.

Confined Space Entry:
Our trailer includes a roof access hatch that enables realistic confined space entry exercises, allowing for training in top-entry and restricted-entry procedures. Equipped with a tripod setup, trainees can practice safe entry, exit, and rescue techniques under expert guidance.


Horizontal and Vertical Entry Simulation:
The trailer’s side hatch door replicates tight, horizontal entry scenarios, ideal for confined space practice. We also include specialized confined space rescue winches and other entry equipment for a comprehensive learning experience.


Heights Training Platform:
The roof of our trailer has a dedicated heights platform has enclosed working deck with handrails, anchor and attachment points for all training participants. simulating access and egress in elevated environments. Stabilizers attached at each corner provide a secure, steady base, minimizing movement during practical exercises.
