LVR safety training, mobile training facility covering Barossa, Gawler, Riverland, Murray Bridge, Regional country South Australia and Adelaide Nationally Accredited course provides participants with the skills to manage common first aid situations that can arise in an electrical services industry environment, including rescue from low voltage panels. It is suitable for people employed as electricians and others employed in the electrical services industry
This course will give you skills to provide rescue and resuscitation to a person who has stopped breathing or is unconscious due to electrical shock. Learn how to manage the danger of accidental electrocution and WHS requirements, in addition to expectations of a safety observer, and use of a low voltage rescue kit.
This course covers the following:
• Introduction to low voltage principles
• Managing the unconscious, breathing casualty
• Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
• DRSABCD action plan
• Burns
• Legal issues
• Defibrillation awareness
• Infection control
• Hazards and risk management
• Identifying and labelling the isolation point
• Performing a rescue from a low voltage (LV) panel
Key Learning Outcomes
Units of Competency
On successful completion of this course, students will be eligible for a Statement of Attainment (SOA) for:
An SOA will be issued by Skills Network Australia Ltd within 30 days of completion of the course, provided all USI, fees and charges have been finalised.
The units of competency listed above are current on the National Register of VET at the time of publication.

HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
Course Requirements
Foundation skills are the underpinning communication skills required for participation in the workplace, the community and in adult education and training.
Basic numeracy and literacy skills are needed to attend this course
All training and assessment materials and equipment will be supplied throughout the course.

Renewal
